With more than 20 years of experience in business development, sales and marketing and personnel development, Tom Nelson is an expert in helping leaders in the industrial arena reach new levels of success.
As group director and chairman, Tom is able to connect like-minded manufacturing executives to help both parties facilitate growth and driving change. Tom is the managing director of T G Nelson Company, LLC, which offers small business development services, including retained acquisition services, divesture services, industrial channel development and sales and marketing.
Tom is also a foundation board director for University of Wisconsin-Parkside, a group that raises funds to enhance access to educational excellence and to promote mutually beneficial partnerships. Tom has also spent more than 10 years as Parkside’s director for the College of Business, Economics and Computing Advisory Board.
Tom’s strategy and leadership skills help his clients and his group members better understand and prepare for mergers, acquisitions and divestures. His broad range of experience also includes retained acquisition searches, intellectual property marketing and licensing, industrial sales and marketing and channel management. He earned a Bachelor of Science in physics from Western Illinois University, where he developed his expertise in instrumentation, automation, controls, sensing, metering, measuring and fluid power.
Tom is also a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Midwest Business Brokers (MBBI), the International Society for Automation (ISA), and the Measurement Control and Automation Association (MCAA).
